How to decide to buy a technology from “new product”

by benny on October 7, 2009

Where to buy a flat screen monitor, a DVD-A or SACD, a digital television, Internet service (ADSL, cable, satellite), and other consumer technologies, supposedly better? If so, should be a “pioneer”, or must wait for the widespread public acceptance of the product, lower prices and the elimination of insects? How can the obsolescence potential to influence the purchase?

Step 1
Remember that all consumer products have become popular, such as the DCC (Digital Compact Cassette), remote controls for PCs, mobile Internet, DVD players and DivX.

Step 2
Remember that all consumer products sold only a few years have been replaced by better technology, like players, 8 track cartridges, laser disc players, and Commodore.

Step 3
Remember that all the technologies that are displaced by higher marketing strategies for producers of competing technologies like Betamax VCRs and dbx noise reduction.

Step 4
Consider the convenience and ease of use of the new product, these factors generally higher quality in the market (eg, digital answering machines have a lower quality voice, but are easier to treat).

Step 5
Reflects the changes necessary for the success of a retail product. For example, the stores need to maintain redundant software titles, and is likely to do?

Step 6
Discover how the software is available if the product uses the mobile software (such as DVD-ROM). Determine whether you can buy software that’s enough to justify their investments.

Step 7
Find out which technology is competing with whom you want, and is probably the best.

Step 8
Search for reasons why the technology is not correct, or too complicated or to be successful.

Step 9
In assessing the amount of advertising and marketing. Decide whether the promoters of the new technology are marketing aggressively enough to ensure its success.

Step 10
To assess the ability of producers to control the market. Analyze whether you can suspend the production of a product (eg, files) to force the success of another (like CDs).

Stage 11
Sure that several manufacturers to introduce products and technology licensed original manufacturer’s competitors.

Step 12
They hope to commercialize the first products have the quality of performance and features of the next generation.

Step 13
Remember that prices will be high as the products by mail order in mass production – if this happens.

Step 14
Make sure that the product does what it wants to do, and a more functional product (eg, one to record and play), it is the skyline.
